Scrapbook layout: Oh, how sad for you

My brother sent us a video of our niece doing the sarcastic tear track face, and it was so hilarious we turned it into a reaction gif to use in our family WhatsApp chat! I decided it was too great a moment to live only in our phones, so I took a few screenshots and made a 12×12 layout as well.

I stamped out a big, bold title that highlighted the sarcasm! The comma is actually half of a quotation marks stamp from the Ali Edwards ‘Little Things’ story stamp – I’ve never tried using part of a stamp before, and it was surprisingly easy (at least for this project)!

I’ve had these plastic raindrops for ages, and I’m glad i was finally able to use them up! I drew and cut out a cloud shape from some metallic silver cardstock, and added my journalling on strips of plain white paper.

I needed something to connect the photos, so I went with a few simple arrow stickers – I like they way they help draw the eye down the page!

I love that this layout has a lot of white space, but also a couple of big and bold sections to balance everything out. It’s very different from the layouts I’ve made so far, but I had a lot of fun putting it together, and I’m very pleased with how it all looks!

Supplies used:

  • White cardstock, patterned washi tape, arrow stickers and plastic raindrops from the Studio Calico shop and past documenter kits
  • Stamp sets from Studio Calico and Ali Edwards, using Color Theory inks in Clean Slate, Coral Bay, Sunny Day and Mojito from Studio Calico
  • Black cardstock, plain white paper and silver cardstock from my stash
