Delphine skirt

Last year I picked up Tilly Walnes‘ book Love at First Stitch to try my hand at making clothes. I previously made the Margot pyjama pants, and now I’ve completed my second Love at First Stitch project: the Delphine skirt!

I kept it fairly simple, but I did add pockets – not great for the shape of the skirt, but a practical necessity for my everyday life.

I also followed Tilly’s online tutorial and added a cheerful yellow lining to my skirt.

All in all, it took me a couple of weekends to make the Delphine skirt, and now that I’m more confident with putting in zips, I think it’ll be a lot quicker to make another one in the future. This first attempt is definitely not perfect and I made a number of little mistakes along the way… but I’m really pleased with how it turned out! I’m looking forward to making a more projects from Love at First Stitch this year.

Project Life – 2016 title page

Last week I shared my Project Life process, and this week I’m sharing my 2016 album title page!

All of my previous album title pages were made using the designated cards from my Project Life core kits, but this year I wanted to try something different and put it together myself. I ended up making a double-sided page, because I couldn’t narrow down the cards I wanted to use!

I used a mix of Studio Calico, Becky Higgins core kit and my own journalling cards to put together these pages. I kept things simple with just a few embellishments, and added an Instax photo I took with Dannii on the first day of the year. I hand-stitched the ‘2016’ journal cards with the help of an Amy Tangerine embroidery stencil and some gold embroidery thread. I really love those embroidery stencils!

I’m looking forward to a new year of Project Life! I’ll share my January and February pages soon.
