A few months ago, I decided to work on a new hobby: sewing! I’ve dabbled with sewing a little before, making soft toys and cushion covers, and a skirt once (with some help!), but I recently picked up Tilly Walnes‘ book Love at First Stitch and decided to give dressmaking a try.
This past weekend was a long weekend and I already had some very cute fabric I picked up at a recent market, so on Saturday I tried out my first ever totally-unassisted garment sewing project: Tilly’s Margot pyjama pants!
It took me most of the day to make my pyjama pants, from cutting out the fabric to making the matching drawstring. Tilly’s step-by-step directions were quite easy to follow, both because of the natural, chatty writing style and the helpful pictures.
And by the end of the day… I had my very own pair of pyjama pants! I made them summer-ready by shortening the length of the pattern to make knee-length pants. I’m really proud of these, and I can’t wait to wear them this summer!
